Description

Felt flap discs are used for pre-polishing and high-gloss polishing on medium-sized to large components.

Due to their hardness and flexibility, felt flap discs are used when the exact form of geometric shapes has to be maintained. As a general rule, diamond polishing pastes and polishing paste bars are used for this.

Advantages

Can be freely shaped, meaning they can be used on complicated geometries.
Low thermal load on the workpiece.

Recommendations for use

Use the soft type for buffing and processing workpieces with lots of contours. If a very fine finish is desired, the hard and soft types can be used successively.

Materials that can be worked: Aluminum; Brass; Bronze; Cast steel; Cobalt-based alloys; Copper; Fibre-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP, CRP); Hardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC); Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy); Stainless steel (INOX); Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRC; Steels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC); Thermoplastics; Titanium; Titanium alloys
