Description

PLAST cut tungsten carbide burs are designed for trimming and contour milling on a wide range of fibre-reinforced plastics (GRP/CRP). They are ideal for use on less hard glass and carbon-fibre-reinforced duroplastics (GRP and CRP ≤ 40 % fibre content) and fibre-reinforced thermoplastics. The PLAST cut (similar to PCD milling) minimizes delamination and fraying.

Recommendations for use

To avoid chattering and risking damaging or breaking the bur, use a bur diameter greater than the thickness of the workpiece material.
Increase the speed if the bur tends to chatter.
If melting occurs, reduce the rotational speed and contact pressure.
Use the burs on powerful power tools with elastically mounted spindles to avoid unwanted vibration.
Observe the recommended rotational speed.
Burs with a centre drill (ZBS) are designed for manual use. They allow secure drilling into almost all surface conditions.
